Too Many Songs!
by TheWhiteDragon on Nov.15, 2011, under Tracks
I always do my weekly crate digging, but sometimes I don’t have enough time to sort all of my results into a blog post. So I’m going to take a slightly different approach from here on on. Yeah that’s right. No videos. Going lighter on tags too. So anyways, here’s a ton of awesome songs. Enjoy.
Tyler Michaud, Kyau & Albert, and Arty For Your Dance Fix
by TheWhiteDragon on Sep.28, 2011, under Tracks
I was really tempted to post the Tyler Michaud track earlier, but rules are rules. Tracks released that week only, and it was only released this week. What really pumped me up about this release was a Nhato remix (one of my other favorites). This is also a great week for you new trance fans with big tracks from Arty, Mat Zo, and Kyau & Albert. All of them should be great for the floor.
Speaking of the floor I’m only a week away from testing my new track at the W Lounge on August 5th. I’ll be posting a preview later on this week. It will be just enough for you to recognize the track when I play it, but not enough to show you any of the cool parts. Hate me all you want, but I’m going to milk this for all I can.
Nhato, Chris Dynasty, and Ferry Corsten In The Calm Before The Storm
by TheWhiteDragon on Jun.22, 2011, under Tracks
This is a big week. I know I say that every week, but there’s some truth to it this time. The NBA Draft is on Thursday, and the Russel Rebalance (stock market thing) is on Friday. Two events that I’m sure will keep me entertained at the end of the week.
So today is really just the calm before the storm. As always I have some love for some of my favorites. Nhato has two great tracks this week, and I’m really starting to see him break out. I also have a lot of newer stuff. I really like the Chris Dynasty track. Hardstyle is getting more and more appealing.
Don’t forget to follow my twitter. My rule for the blog is that all tracks must be released on beatport that week. You’ll have to follow my twitter to see what tracks I’m liking that are still in the pipeline.
Leon Boiler, Pryda, and Richard Durand Top Another Crazy Week
by TheWhiteDragon on Jun.15, 2011, under Tracks
It’s been a long week, and a good sit down with some music was the therapy I needed. This summer is going to be crazy in every way you can imagine. Trust me, I know these things.
Things have been getting really competitive this month in the charts. There’s just far too much stuff out there to comment on. I’m sure you can find that stuff by yourself. That’s why I took a bit more of the less beaten path this week.
The winner this week is Ost Kaas. I’m usually not into this type of Trance, but these guys were really able to do something different with it. I’ve never heard so much power come out of these types of sounds. It’s loud and commanding. Definitely an anthem worth keeping. The name means cheese cheese. Watch the video for more information.
There’s even more Andain remixes out as well, but we already explored that song enough last week didn’t we?
Gabriel & Dresden As Good As Ever!
by TheWhiteDragon on Jun.11, 2011, under Tracks
You may have noticed that I usually put three artists in the title of my weekly posts. I like to give those top tracks some extra love, and it helps with search engines as well. I’m breaking with tradition because well…Gabriel & Dresden are just that good. Possible candidate for my track of the year.
I also have to apologize for the late post. I wrote the post on Tuesday, but I thought I’d release on the weekend to see what happens.
Oh yeah, almost forgot! In Search Of Sunrise 9 is out too!
Aerofoil, Skream, Deadmau5 For An Extra Massive May
by TheWhiteDragon on May.25, 2011, under Tracks
It was hard to narrow things down to ten picks this week, but I was able to pull it off. Part of what made it so hard was the massive remixes released this week. Skream, Deadmaus5, and Michael Woods each had a release with remixes from the likes of Laidback Luke and Noisia. There was also a great moonbeam track out this week. I selected the Special Dub Mix because I felt it was more unique, but I can almost guarantee the excellent Arty remix will be a trance top ten.
This didn’t leave much room for some of the lesser known stuff, but I’m still happy with the results. Caress 2 Impress is one of those tracks you’ll have to listen to a few times, just because you won’t believe how awesome it is.
Winter Kills, Solarity Finish Off April
by TheWhiteDragon on Apr.27, 2011, under Tracks
I’m really starting to get sick and tired of it snowing here in Utah. I’m ready for big outdoor parties already. You can think about how much you want to see warmer weather, by listening to the new track from Winter Kills. There’s also some new Solarity out on Anjunadeep that is sure to put these artists at the front of your mind. Finally the week wouldn’t be complete without a track from Musical Madness, my new favorite label. Seems like they have some rocking big room trance song each week. This time it’s Matthew Nagle, Setrise – Nailed It
Lots of big stuff coming. I’m getting a new mixer, Traktor Pro 2, and I’ll be releasing my new track on soundcloud. Just putting some of the final mastering touches on it in time for the Tactical Assault Mixshow guys.
Unknowns Freq Maverick and Fabio Castillo Top This Weeks Tracks
by TheWhiteDragon on Apr.13, 2011, under Tracks
Weeks like these are some of my favorites. I didn’t have to browse long to realize that I wasn’t finding what I was looking for. Which can only mean one thing. I needed to look for something different, and boy did I find it. I found a number of great tracks from artists I’ve never heard of. More than I could post.
Check out Acid Kiss on headphones for some edgy chillout. I also included a dubstep track this week. I know that I don’t post dubstep very often. I have nothing against it, but I’m just not cool enough for dubstep. However, this Calvetron track won me over by including some Hoover in there. Nothing gets me going more than that Dominator sound. You also can’t miss the new Wippenberg track. You’ll be hearing it a lot. Markus Schulz has an unreleased big room remix of this that’s super rocking.
As for track of the week, this time it goes to Freq Maverick. Another artist I had no clue existed before I stumbled onto it on beatport. I don’t know what it is about it, but this is one of those songs that I like to play over and over again. I embedded the soundcloud player so make sure you comment it up to let him know how awesome it is.
Sun Decade and Afrojack Finish Off One Crazy Month
by TheWhiteDragon on Mar.30, 2011, under Tracks
It’s been quite the month. I don’t know if I want it to end or not. On one hand this has just been a rough week. I’m exhausted from work, world markets have been absolutely nuts, Jimmer was overrated, and watching the Utah Jazz has just become flat out depressing. On the other hand the music this month has absolutely rocked! Lots of tracks to pick from. Afrojack’s song will of course be a favorite with the kids, and is a guaranteed chart winner. However, I just can’t resist when someone puts together a deep trance sound with some grit to it. Sun Decade and Ronski Speed win with U Got Me.
Hope you enjoy this week’s picks. Now if you’ll excuse me I need to go pass out…
Kyau and Albert Bring March Madness Into Full Swing
by TheWhiteDragon on Mar.16, 2011, under Tracks
March is one of the best months for music as everyone starts positioning themselves for the spring and summer club seasons. I’m particularly enthralled by this new single from Kyau & Albert. One of the most difficult tasks in producing EDM is trying to create an uplifting tune while still keeping that edge. In this particularly respect there are few others that can pull this off more consistently than this duo. On The Way is a perfect example with it’s great beat and uplifting vocorder lyrics. Expect to be hear this song a lot over the next year.
You’ll also want to catch the Richard Durand remix of Andain. Richard does a great job remixing, and listening to Andain again will get you all nostalgic for the impending return of Gabriel & Dresden. The trance we all grew up with is coming back in a big way, and I couldn’t be more excited.
Check out all of my picks this week including the video for my track of the week Kyau & Albert – On The Way:
