Adam K, BT, Benny Benassi, and HeatBeat. Oh yeah, don’t foget tomorrow!

by TheWhiteDragon on Oct.05, 2011, under Uncategorized

In case I haven’t reminded you enough times, or perhaps you just forgot: I will be playing at the W Lounge tomorrow night. In addition to the rocking Trance you get every week on this blog, I’ll also be showing off a new track. I haven’t named it yet, so feel free to offer suggestions. I’ve added a preview of the track to my list this week.

There’s also a number of big tracks I’d like to point out. For starters if Laidback Luke and Benny Benassi together doesn’t get your blood moving I don’t know what will. There’s also a new track from Adam K and BT. Technically it’s not out yet, but it’s already showing in mix compilations. The track is rocking and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it catapult to the top when it receives a proper release. We also continue to see great things from Heatbeat. Roses never cry is a true breakout track for them.

I’d also like to point out that this was the first week I didn’t have to put “no video available”. Technically I cheated though. There was no video for the Ainur Remix of Red Herring so I just had to link to Union Jack’s original classic.

Sander Van Doorn, Fei-Fei, and Eric Prydz. Yes I’m still here.

by TheWhiteDragon on Sep.21, 2011, under Uncategorized

Time has not been kind to me the past few weeks. I’ve been collecting my weekly picks, but I didn’t have enough time to format them for the blog. This has left me with several weeks of backlog. Luckily my schedule has calmed down, and I have found a new sense of dedication. I made a few changes to my blog including adding Disqus, and I have several tracks in the work. Lots in store, so don’t go anywhere.

As for this week’s tracks there’s a number of must here’s in this bunch. Sander Van Doorn has a great album out. It includes a number of big tunes you’ll be hearing, but my rule is to only feature one song per album. Slap My Pitch Up was by far my favorite. We also can’t forget the Matthew Nagle remix that’s been floating around from earlier this month. He continues to impress with this massive tune. There’s also an Eric Prydz song out. I wish I had words to explain how great it is, but what’s the point? We all know that everything Eric Prydz puts out is pure gold.

Also don’t forget to check me out at the W Lounge On October 5th! I’ll be showcasing a new track that I’ll give you a preview of in next week’s blog post.

TheWhiteDragon – Exigent

by TheWhiteDragon on Aug.11, 2011, under Uncategorized

I feel really terrible about not being able to update my blog the past few weeks. Luckily I’m able to tell you that I was able to resolve my computer issues. I bought a new motherboard, and it’s up and running. I was able to get my hands on a new Intel Sandybridge Core I5 2500k processor. It’s blazing fast, and will really help with my production. I won’t have to bounce tracks down as much anymore which should speed things up.

I wanted to make things up for you, so I thought I’d release a brand new track. It’s a softer song with an arp lead, and complex baseline. Don’t forget to leave comments in the soundcloud timeline!

Computer Troubles

by TheWhiteDragon on Jul.27, 2011, under Uncategorized

I know, I’ve been failing you for the past few weeks. Just as I was ready to step things up I ran into computer trouble. Seems to be something to do with the power supply as I’m just not getting any juice at all. So in the meantime, why don’t you drool over the forthcoming Mr Sam album?

4 Strings, Dewstuffz, and Alex M.O.R.P.H Help You Forget The Economy

by TheWhiteDragon on Jul.13, 2011, under Uncategorized

There’s a scary connection between my life and financial markets. When the market gets crazy so does my life. Sure enough I’ve had a pretty terrible week so far. Things are crazy, I put a huge dent in my car, and they ran out of free slurpies for the annual 7/11 day. Luckily I have the perfect way to get away from all of that. My weekly crate digging routine is the perfect way to get away from it all. Nothing will help you forget about the terrible economy like some good music!

You should specifically check out the album that the Ben Gold track came from. It’s nothing but the best trance chillout from Armada. It’s great to see such strong support for an unappreciated genre. I’m also really into this new 4 Strings track. It reminds me of their old track diving. It has a great feel to it, and I hope to see more of this.

Jonas Stenberg, Lange, and Super 8 & Tab Ending June

by TheWhiteDragon on Jun.29, 2011, under Uncategorized

Lots of great uplifting trance anthems this time. I feel a little bit behind because I got caught up doing some of my own productions. Lots of stuff to show you, but you’ll have to be patient. Have tons of other work I need to get out of the way including taking that cursed GMAT test.

I also included a new Diablik track. I’m still liking this hard techno stuff. There’s a whole section for it on beatport now, so check it out for yourself.

Proff, John O’Callaghan, and Indecnet Noise Start on Beatport Beta

by TheWhiteDragon on May.18, 2011, under Uncategorized

Went hard this week. I don’t know if it was the excitement of the Jazz getting #3 in the NBA lottery or if that’s just the direction I’ve been moving. I have a few tracks that are bordering on hard dance territory. However, I also have a few uplifting trance songs in there. Don’t forget to check out all the songs on John O’Callaghan’s new album. There’s a song in there for everyone.

I’ll be posting up my comments on the new Beatport beta on Friday. It needs a bit of work, but I like it overall.

Making Up For Lost Time With Eric Prydz, Digital Dropouts, and BSP

by TheWhiteDragon on May.11, 2011, under Uncategorized

That’s right. I might have missed a week due to moving apartments, but I didn’t forget about you. I deviated a little bit from the usual 10 since I missed a week.

Anyways, get used to this Eric Prydz remix of Personal Jesus. It will be #1 progressive house song within 2 days, and #1 in all of beatport in a week. It may well even prove to have some crossover appeal. Doesn’t get much more epic than this. For my unknowns I picked BSP and Digital Dropouts. BSP has that dark hardstyle thing going on that’s starting to grow on me. The same style as one of my newer favorites Diablik who also has a decent remix out this week. The Digital Dropouts song has two great remixes. You should check out both. I picked Terry Ferminal because of the groovy baseline.

Junkie XL, George Acosta, and Skream Is Your Selection For Easter

by TheWhiteDragon on Apr.20, 2011, under Uncategorized

This week has turned up a number of crowd pleasers. On the dubstep side we have Scream proving why he’s the godfather of dubstep. It’s THE dubstep track to play right now in my view. I am also impressed by the Ferry Corsten remix. If he keeps it up he’s sure to climb up big in the yearly top DJ lists. For some big room trance I have Jochun Miller as usual, and the techno sound is covered by a Blackwhited remix.

I was also pleasantly surprised to find JunkieXL on beatport this week. This time it’s the release of several of his songs from the upcoming PC game “Dark Spore”. It’s no Infusion – Legacy remix, but hey I’ll take what I can get. He’s great at video game music, and I hope to see more work like this in the future.

But of course, none of the aformentioned tracks are track of the week. This time it goes to George Acosta. His tracks always remind me of the days playing uDANCE with DJ First Touch. When we compared what we liked for that week we always seemed to share the new George Acosta release. He’s the perfect bridge between progressive house and trance.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got some Portal to play. I hear the end song is really good, but I want to play through the whole thing before posting it. Don’t want to spoil anything.
