Leon Boiler, Pryda, and Richard Durand Top Another Crazy Week
by TheWhiteDragon on Jun.15, 2011, under Tracks
It’s been a long week, and a good sit down with some music was the therapy I needed. This summer is going to be crazy in every way you can imagine. Trust me, I know these things.
Things have been getting really competitive this month in the charts. There’s just far too much stuff out there to comment on. I’m sure you can find that stuff by yourself. That’s why I took a bit more of the less beaten path this week.
The winner this week is Ost Kaas. I’m usually not into this type of Trance, but these guys were really able to do something different with it. I’ve never heard so much power come out of these types of sounds. It’s loud and commanding. Definitely an anthem worth keeping. The name means cheese cheese. Watch the video for more information.
There’s even more Andain remixes out as well, but we already explored that song enough last week didn’t we?
Gabriel & Dresden As Good As Ever!
by TheWhiteDragon on Jun.11, 2011, under Tracks
You may have noticed that I usually put three artists in the title of my weekly posts. I like to give those top tracks some extra love, and it helps with search engines as well. I’m breaking with tradition because well…Gabriel & Dresden are just that good. Possible candidate for my track of the year.
I also have to apologize for the late post. I wrote the post on Tuesday, but I thought I’d release on the weekend to see what happens.
Oh yeah, almost forgot! In Search Of Sunrise 9 is out too!
Where Was I?

Yes, I missed the weekly post. I have a good excuse though! It was my birthday this week. It ok, you can find the good tracks by yourself for one week. I’ll make it up to you…
Aerofoil, Skream, Deadmau5 For An Extra Massive May
by TheWhiteDragon on May.25, 2011, under Tracks
It was hard to narrow things down to ten picks this week, but I was able to pull it off. Part of what made it so hard was the massive remixes released this week. Skream, Deadmaus5, and Michael Woods each had a release with remixes from the likes of Laidback Luke and Noisia. There was also a great moonbeam track out this week. I selected the Special Dub Mix because I felt it was more unique, but I can almost guarantee the excellent Arty remix will be a trance top ten.
This didn’t leave much room for some of the lesser known stuff, but I’m still happy with the results. Caress 2 Impress is one of those tracks you’ll have to listen to a few times, just because you won’t believe how awesome it is.
Proff, John O’Callaghan, and Indecnet Noise Start on Beatport Beta
by TheWhiteDragon on May.18, 2011, under Uncategorized
Went hard this week. I don’t know if it was the excitement of the Jazz getting #3 in the NBA lottery or if that’s just the direction I’ve been moving. I have a few tracks that are bordering on hard dance territory. However, I also have a few uplifting trance songs in there. Don’t forget to check out all the songs on John O’Callaghan’s new album. There’s a song in there for everyone.
I’ll be posting up my comments on the new Beatport beta on Friday. It needs a bit of work, but I like it overall.
Making Up For Lost Time With Eric Prydz, Digital Dropouts, and BSP
by TheWhiteDragon on May.11, 2011, under Uncategorized
That’s right. I might have missed a week due to moving apartments, but I didn’t forget about you. I deviated a little bit from the usual 10 since I missed a week.
Anyways, get used to this Eric Prydz remix of Personal Jesus. It will be #1 progressive house song within 2 days, and #1 in all of beatport in a week. It may well even prove to have some crossover appeal. Doesn’t get much more epic than this. For my unknowns I picked BSP and Digital Dropouts. BSP has that dark hardstyle thing going on that’s starting to grow on me. The same style as one of my newer favorites Diablik who also has a decent remix out this week. The Digital Dropouts song has two great remixes. You should check out both. I picked Terry Ferminal because of the groovy baseline.
No Post Today

Sorry guys. My machine isn’t even up and working today. We’ve been doing some major reorganizing around the apartment, and I have to spend the night cleaning. Should be up and going next week, and hopefully my new mixer will be here by then as well.
Winter Kills, Solarity Finish Off April
by TheWhiteDragon on Apr.27, 2011, under Tracks
I’m really starting to get sick and tired of it snowing here in Utah. I’m ready for big outdoor parties already. You can think about how much you want to see warmer weather, by listening to the new track from Winter Kills. There’s also some new Solarity out on Anjunadeep that is sure to put these artists at the front of your mind. Finally the week wouldn’t be complete without a track from Musical Madness, my new favorite label. Seems like they have some rocking big room trance song each week. This time it’s Matthew Nagle, Setrise – Nailed It
Lots of big stuff coming. I’m getting a new mixer, Traktor Pro 2, and I’ll be releasing my new track on soundcloud. Just putting some of the final mastering touches on it in time for the Tactical Assault Mixshow guys.
Junkie XL, George Acosta, and Skream Is Your Selection For Easter
by TheWhiteDragon on Apr.20, 2011, under Uncategorized
This week has turned up a number of crowd pleasers. On the dubstep side we have Scream proving why he’s the godfather of dubstep. It’s THE dubstep track to play right now in my view. I am also impressed by the Ferry Corsten remix. If he keeps it up he’s sure to climb up big in the yearly top DJ lists. For some big room trance I have Jochun Miller as usual, and the techno sound is covered by a Blackwhited remix.
I was also pleasantly surprised to find JunkieXL on beatport this week. This time it’s the release of several of his songs from the upcoming PC game “Dark Spore”. It’s no Infusion – Legacy remix, but hey I’ll take what I can get. He’s great at video game music, and I hope to see more work like this in the future.
But of course, none of the aformentioned tracks are track of the week. This time it goes to George Acosta. His tracks always remind me of the days playing uDANCE with DJ First Touch. When we compared what we liked for that week we always seemed to share the new George Acosta release. He’s the perfect bridge between progressive house and trance.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got some Portal to play. I hear the end song is really good, but I want to play through the whole thing before posting it. Don’t want to spoil anything.
Unknowns Freq Maverick and Fabio Castillo Top This Weeks Tracks
by TheWhiteDragon on Apr.13, 2011, under Tracks
Weeks like these are some of my favorites. I didn’t have to browse long to realize that I wasn’t finding what I was looking for. Which can only mean one thing. I needed to look for something different, and boy did I find it. I found a number of great tracks from artists I’ve never heard of. More than I could post.
Check out Acid Kiss on headphones for some edgy chillout. I also included a dubstep track this week. I know that I don’t post dubstep very often. I have nothing against it, but I’m just not cool enough for dubstep. However, this Calvetron track won me over by including some Hoover in there. Nothing gets me going more than that Dominator sound. You also can’t miss the new Wippenberg track. You’ll be hearing it a lot. Markus Schulz has an unreleased big room remix of this that’s super rocking.
As for track of the week, this time it goes to Freq Maverick. Another artist I had no clue existed before I stumbled onto it on beatport. I don’t know what it is about it, but this is one of those songs that I like to play over and over again. I embedded the soundcloud player so make sure you comment it up to let him know how awesome it is.
